The Rome City Commission invited residents to attend a community conversation on gun violence held Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at the Rome City Auditorium. About 250 people showed up for the first in what promises to be a series of meetings to discuss issues related to increasing acts of gun violence hosted by Mayor Sunday Stevenson. Stevenson, Police Chief Denise Downer-McKinney, Rome High Principal Parke Wilkinson, young entrepreneur Tae Coley and preacher who works with GNTC Adult GED programs Rev. Dr. Derrick McDaniel were on the panel.

A follow-up meeting is set for August 22 at 6 pm at Rome City Auditorium.

Here are some of the videos that were shared at the meeting from community members who have been affected by gun violence.
